Important Information

  • Please carefully read the pre-requisites.  Some classes suggest a minimum of age of 14 or 1st class rank.
    • These classes require more note taking, more lecture time, and skills/background that younger scouts may not have yet gained, especially scouts who have just crossed over to join the troop.  Please respect the Counselors requests, these are made for the benefit of your scout.
  • Adults -  We rely on your participation to make this event work!!
    • If you can commit to helping with a class to provide 2-deep leadership (no experience required in the class subject), please order a Two Deep Adult ticket for no cost. This helps us know which classes are covered and where we need to find day-of volunteers.
  • If a scout has mobility issues or special needs, please contact us when you register, and no later than March 1 at [email protected] so that we can try to arrange the classroom in a building with the best access for elevators, etc.  After this date we may not be able to adjust classroom assignments.  Some classes require the ability to do stairs and stand for long periods (ex: Emergency Preparedness conducts part of the class inside the Linn County Emergency Management vehicle,  Truck Transportation requires boarding a school bus with no wheel chair lift).  We will do our best to accommodate, or help you select a class that can meet your needs.
  • If a Scout has learning or behavioral challenges, we encourage an adult to stay with the scout during the class (please coach, not do the work).
    • Our instructors will not be able to adjust the course to meet specific needs in this setting. If you have any questions about a class, content, activities or fit, please email [email protected].
  • By registering for a merit badge class, you are accepting the Photo Release and Agreement and Liability Waiver on behalf of the Scout and any observers or adults participating or responsible for transportation to and from the event.

Check back for updates - if you are willing to host a Scout related adult discussion group, please email [email protected].  We'd be happy to provide a room for leaders to network.
