Boy Scout Troop 37 meets at the Shueyville United Methodist Church.
Meeting Information
Troop 37 has regular weekly meetings Monday nights during the school year. During the summer months, we meet every other Monday. Regular meetings are held on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please check TroopWebHost, or contact us for additional meeting information.
Parental Involvement
In order to provide the variety of activities that we do for the Scouts, we ask for as much parental involvement as possible. We believe that the boys that advance in Scouting are those with the most parental involvement. We hold committee meetings once a month to support the administration of the troop. In addition, Scout parents teach merit badge skills, chaperone camping trips and troop outings, mentor Scouts on leadership skills and support them through their Eagle project completion. There is something for everyone to help out with.

Parent Committee Meetings
Parent Committee meetings are normally on the 1st Monday of each Month beginning at 7:00 p.m. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please check the calendar for up-to-date information. Scouting is for parents, too! Active, committed adult leaders and parents are the heart and soul of a successful Boy Scout Troop. A little time and a little effort can make a huge difference in a young man's life. Volunteer to help at one of our many events... you'll be glad you did!
Advancement
Boy Scout ranks include: Boy Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle Scout. New Scouts joining Troop 37 have the opportunity to reach First Class within their first year to 18 months in the troop. Troop meeting activities, summer camping opportunities and mentoring by older Scouts all support advancement.
Court of Honor
Court of Honor is held three times a year (February, June, and September) at varying locations. This is a family event and is a time to celebrate the achievements each of the boys has made. It is at the Court of Honor that rank advancement and merit badges are awarded to each individual scout.
Camping
Troop 37 has weekend camp outs 10 months of the year. One to two weeks before the each camping trip we will discuss the upcoming camp out at our Troop meetings. Each patrol is responsible for planning meals and activities for the camp outs. Adult family members are welcome and encouraged to go camping with the scout troop.
All boys are encouraged to attend summer camp. Not only is summer camp an exciting adventure. It also provides the opportunity to work on rank advancement as well as individual merit badges.
