Scouts should have prior experience cooking with their troop on campouts. Meals cooked in class for the MB cannot be used for rank per BSA guidelines.

Class Size: 20
This class requires note taking, menu planning, budgeting (please bring a calculator or smartphone). Scouts will prepare their own meals and each lunch with their "patrols" assigned in class.
Do not purchase a separate lunch ticket. Dress appropriately to be outside in a covered building (mildly heated) at least half of the day. Scouts will cook for ~4 hours, make many menu items, and use multiple cooking methods. Hands-on is required for credit.

Scouts must complete these on their own after class using the skills learned in class. Email the counselor with proof of completion (menu plan, verification by adult/Scoutmaster cooking was completed per requirements).

$15.00 material fee, all food and cooking equipment and supplies are provided (scout only - adult volunteers attend and eat free)
Four (4) adults are needed to work with scouts on menu planning and written responses during class, and to provide feedback to scouts on their meals. Adults will receive free lunch and do not need to purchase a lunch ticket. Contact [email protected] directly to volunteer. Due to space limitations, there is only room for those adults pre-registered as volunteers.
